Survey: Did you or someone you know move to the Belfast area because of climate change?

This ABCD online survey was shared in our November 2021 newsletter, on our website and on the Belfast Free Library Facebook page. 10 people responded (with a few responses coming in later, through July 2022). A couple respondents said yes, they moved here because of climate change. A few folks offered these comments:
I have not heard anyone say that. I came because of family being here.
We considered a number of areas in the US that we have lived in or visited in the past. We ruled out a number of places because of climate issues. Fortunately for us, we love Maine and consider ourselves to be fortunate to be here in terms of potential climate change. Everywhere has been affected, but so far, Maine has been more fortunate than many other areas.
I moved here after 15 years of looking for the right in-town property and finally found it.
Outside of this survey, we also had a couple folks share their stories of climate migration with the ABCD project: “Climate change: Why we moved” (anonymous); and “Long time climate migrant” by Fred Bowers, PhD.
