Her Sign Says CLIMATE RIDE

Her Sign Says CLIMATE RIDE

Text

Cresting the hill, heading east on Rt. 3, cars
Rush
Towards
Her.
She faces the industrial revolution
With her thumb out,
Asking
For a ride.

How magical is Earth's oil and gas.
Add a little fire
And you get 120 horses.
That's a lot of harness
A lot of oats and water,
And quite a tangle of reins
To carry each driver to town.
So much power

That if a blue Ford Focus pulls over
And picks her up,
Even if she has 200 pounds of potatoes
A box of books
And a pack basket full of laundry,
That little car will roll along to town,
Same as always,
Whistling while it works.
